Frequently Asked Questions - Massage

Can I claim on my health fund?

Yes. Karina Blow is registered with most major Private Health funds. Private Health fund rebates are only claimable for Remedial Massage Therapy only. Karina has Hicaps instant claiming. Remember to bring your health fund card with you to the massage. HCF may not be claimable through the Hicaps machine, so a Tax Receipt will be emailed immediately after your massage.


What happens if I’m running late or can’t make my appointment?

We request 24 hours notice if you are unable to make your appointment. Please phone 0400 788 770.

Please note that 50% of the treatment booked will be required if you cancel your booking within 5 hours of time scheduled or if you do not arrive for your appointment booking. If you are running late, we will try our best to accommodate you so that your session is not compromised. Please note that this may not always be possible due to other appointments that may directly follow your appointment.


What are your cancellation / rescheduling policies?

We appreciate that sometimes “life happens” and you will not be able to keep your appointment.

With respect to Karina and other clients, we request that 24 hours notice is given should you need to cancel or to reschedule your appointment. Full refunds will be given up to 24 hours prior to a cancellation. 50% payment will be charged for cancellations within 24 hours.


What are your payment methods?

Payment must be made at time of booking. Hicaps and EFTpos are available. Please note that there are no cash out facilities.


How can I purchase a Gift Vouchers?

Gift Certificates are a great way to show someone how much you care about them. Text Karina on 0400 788 770 to arrange.


How do I prepare for my massage treatment?

It is important that you are hydrated, so drinking plenty of water in the 24 hours prior to your session is helpful. Please consume at least 1 litre of water prior to your massage, but not in the hour directly before your booking.


What do I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and underwear - preferably sports underwear.

You will remove your outer clothing for the session and will be appropriately covered with towels.

Please remove all your jewellery for the massage and preferably, leave it at home.


What can I expect from my session?

If this is your first appointment, please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier than your booking.

In your first session, important information will be gathered to assess your condition and to customise a specific treatment plan.

During the massage, please feel free to communicate as much or as little as you like – remember this is all about you.


What do I need to know about my appointment?

Your scheduled treatment time is the time that your massage starts.

Please schedule sufficient time prior to your appointment to allow for traffic, parking, use of facilities.

Late arrivals may result in a shortened appointment.


What happens after the massage?

Please make sure that you get up from the massage table only when you are ready to.

Your therapist will leave the room temporarily so that you can re-dress in private.


Please drink 1 litre of water following your session. Water helps your body to stay hydrated and is essential following your massage.
